The “Vietnam Famous Brands – Competitive Brands” certification ceremony, organized by the Vietnam Intellectual Property Association (VIPA), aims to recognize and honor businesses whose brands and products have earned consumers’ trust. Brands are evaluated based on their business history, sustainable development, growth momentum, market coverage, brand reputation as recognized by industry experts and customers, as well as revenue and social contribution achievements.

Ms. Gao Ya, CEO of TCL Vietnam, shared that 2020 was one of the most challenging years the company had ever experienced. TCL had initially planned to launch a series of premium products in April, but the launch was postponed to May and conducted through an innovative online format.

The Figures Behind the Achievement

“During social distancing, as families spent more time together, many consumers began to recognize the importance of smart TVs equipped with the Android operating system, voice control features, and an extensive entertainment application library,” Ms. Gao Ya shared.

She also noted that sales of TCL’s 43–55-inch TV segments surged compared to traditional 32-inch LCD models.

TCL also recorded strong growth during this period, achieving a 29.2% increase in sales from January to June compared with the same period last year, and maintaining consecutive growth over the past three years, according to GfK data.

According to customer feedback, consumers were increasingly looking for large-screen TVs with realistic color reproduction, such as QLED 8K and QLED 4K models, to enjoy entertainment experiences with their families. TCL also provided complimentary entertainment application packages to enhance customers’ viewing experiences.

Developing Smart TVs to Meet Diverse Customer Needs

TCL offers three TV product series – X, C, and P – catering to different market segments, from premium to mainstream.

While QLED technology was previously available exclusively in the X series, TCL has expanded its QLED 4K offerings to the C and P series, making the technology more accessible to a wider range of consumers.

As a pioneer in remote voice control technology that eliminates the need for a traditional remote control, TCL has effectively integrated built-in microphones and Google Assistant into its products. Users can conveniently issue voice commands in Vietnamese from a distance and ask Google Assistant to perform various tasks.

TCL envisions televisions as the central connection point for other smart home appliances, including washing machines, air conditioners, and refrigerators. The company is committed to developing TVs into the central hub of future smart home ecosystems.

Continuing to Support the Vietnamese Market Through Meaningful Community Initiatives

“We always strive to bring positive contributions to young people and educational institutions that lack adequate facilities. I believe TCL TVs can serve as a bridge connecting them to the outside world, bringing more exciting experiences into their lives,” Ms. Summer Gao shared.

In 2019, TCL partnered with 25 schools in the charitable initiative “Cinema in Your School,” one of the company's meaningful contributions to society.

In 2020, TCL continued this commitment by pledging to donate an additional 100 55-inch TVs to 100 schools and students in remote, disadvantaged areas and island communities across Vietnam.
